reasons why your next roof should be (GRP) Fibreglass
A (GRP) Fibreglass flat roof has a life span which lasts a lot longer than the traditional bitumen based roofing systems because felt is laid with several layers over lapping. Each layer usually represents 5 years of effectiveness and the roof will eventually leak, as the layers become ineffective. GRP roofs never decompose and they have the potential to outlast any traditional flat roofing material, without any degradation in performance.
One of the most fundamental features of GRP which sets it apart from most if not all other roof flat roofing systems is that it’s a monolithic laminate. What this means is that it does not suffer any weakness at seams, joints or welds, usually the weak points on the roofs. GRP is one continuous layer and can mould on or around almost anything where other flat roofing systems would struggle to seal.
A GRP roof is also completely maintenance free, which is an obvious advantage over many traditional flat roofing systems which require maintenance or cleaning to remain effective. Many traditional roofs are bitumen based which requires tar boilers. GRP is a cold applied system which means the laminate is formed without the risks associated with using naked flames or burners on a roof.
